All Aboard!! The new Ocean STEAMers day camp is ready to set sail. During this program, our STEAMers will embark on an art meets science voyage where we will explore the art of camouflage, biological illustration techniques, and use sculpture to dive down into the deep sea.

Take a walk through the maritime forest, then on to the dunes and beach. You will learn about native plants and the benefits of an intact dune system.

Campers will set out on an expedition across many of the diverse habitats of Dauphin Island.

This excursion gives you the chance to become the marine scientist for the day and get an up close look at the inhabitants of the salt marsh habitat.

Change and resilience in Gulf of Mexico environments

Alabama’s environments seem to be experiencing stress on a number of fronts, but efforts are being made to improve our collective resilience. Join us to investigate these stresses - hearing from scientists, visiting local areas experiencing change, exploring classroom activities that address weather, climate, biodiversity, and more in coastal areas and discussing solutions and adaptations to change you can share with your learners.

Public Seminar: How the latest dinosaur research is helping to unlock the mysteries of their world

Dr. Ray Wilhite leads a public seminar on research that is helping to unlock the mysteries of dinosaurs. The seminar is free and open to the public.

Exploring STEM in the Ocean

Join us for a hands-on tour of some of the critical technologies that have dramatically increased our understanding of the marine environment. The workshop is suitable for educators working with elementary through high school students, afterschool groups, or informal learning center audiences.

Family Camp

Family Camp is an overnight, weekend program for families to explore Dauphin Island and investigate its habitats, guided by our full-time marine educators.
